Bad News Good News

So, I have bad news and good news. The bad news is that I am leaving New York. It's been really fun and I've had some amazing experiences, but I haven't found a full-time job, and obviously NYC isn't exactly the best place to be with no money. The good news is that once I'm home, (besides having my own bed), I will be able to post more frequently. Since I won't be living out of a suitcase, I'll also be able to share my outfits a lot more. Honestly, I'm excited to return to Detroit, I miss the Midwest terribly.

For my last Saturday night in the city, I wore a cute colorblock body-con dress sent over from Jen's Fashion Plus and my Calvin Klein Mary Janes. Definitely could've used some more accessorizing, but I was running late.

That dress is fabulous. I haven't dared try a bodycon dress but I might give one a go having seen those pics!

Good luck with the move home :-)

I hope the move is for the best, it's sad you have to leave but then again, it hasn't been exactly easy for a lot of people in the last few months... I can sympathize, believe me @_@...
Good luck with the job search back home, and for your last night? You rocked! Great outfit :D

New York is a hard city. I've had friends go there with big dreams and have similar stories.

Wow, you look amazing (as usual).

You are an absolute inspiration for us plus sized gals.

Love your work, sorry to hear that you're leaving NY, but I'm sure you'll be back there. You're in love with NY and once you've been bitten there is no cure.

Keep positing and keep applying for jobs.

Lurker here, but you look wonderful and you know, at least you've had a taste of the New York experience and who knows once you do your time in Detroit, whose to say your journey won't bring you back or perhaps to greater places. Every experience has a purpose! Even this one!

I know how you feel about having to leave the city. But keep your head up, maybe you'll find something better in Detroit. Besides, you never know what God has in store for you.
But ummm, you were killing that dress though!

Hi! That outfit is fierce.

I'm a fellow Detroit expat. I've heard that the economy is still really bad there, but I know why you miss it. Good luck!

Also, I don't know what you do for a living, but if your profession is on the NAFTA list, you might want to try Toronto, where I am. It's not as big, mean, and expensive as NYC, it's incredibly lively and diverse, and the economy is still pretty strong. Also, it's just a 4 hour drive to Detroit, so it's easy to visit family.

Ohh so cute! Good lic moving back home - but you can always visit the city. That's what I do.

fabulous outfit!! You are such an inspiration to us fellow YFF girls out there!!

I agree with what deeleigh said, Toronto is a Canadian NYC and it's nice to shop and do things there. Not as expensive, but still pretty pricy. If you want to give that a go, yeah. Depends on your profession, though. Montreal is great as well. :)!

When I saw that you were moving I was hoping it was to a city a few miles down south (DC). I would have loved to see what you could find for a big cheapo (no pun intended) like me.

*sigh* I feel you. I am living in nyc (been 2 yrs) and I am hating it here. I mean it has its fun moments definately, but I miss the quiet of the south. Finding a job here is NO JOKE. Especially with the economy like it is. :[

I am in love with your hair. No seriously. Hair tips pls! ^.^
